I think "innocent until proven guilty" is nice and all, for regular people. But where on EARTH (let alone in the US) can you find 12 jurors who don't have a bias regarding the King of Pop??? I think it'd be really naive to assume that MJ was given a fair trial.
As for being a product of his upbringing, I totally get that he was victimized himself and that gives him a predilection towards being an abuser. BUT every human has a choice, and the choices we make as adults (while informed by our childhoods) are entirely up to us. I was raped - does that make it ok for me to go out and rape somebody else? Personally, I don't believe it does.
ALSO, I could have sworn up and down that I saw you strolling through downtown Seattle yesterday and it made me miss you big time!
I totally agree that his behavior was inappropriate for an adult. Whether or not he actually abused any kids though wasn't proven. And just as there were accusers, there were also kids that said he never did anything inappropriate. I don't recall many of the details of the trial to be honest, and I'm definitely not a child abuser supporter by any means - I guess I think more so of the impression he made on me when I was a kid - his influence in music was incredible. And if he really did abuse kid(s) then that definitely sucks. Those kids got a shitload of money too though....money can't hide the emotional trauma unfortunately.
when i visit seattle again i'll definitely let you know. :-)
