The Rebel Alliance, a.k.a. Sitting Kitten and his #2, Crazy Eyes, observed the enemy for some time and meticulously planned their attack.

It was a huge success, albeit a sloppy one, and the battle became known as Custard’s Last Stand.

Help me, Yogurt-On Mekitti, you’re our only hope.

I guess you could help too, Cathy O.

Fuzzy Plant Finder?

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 11:45 PM
My fiance has always wanted the plant Stachys byzantina aka Lamb's Ear for whatever reason but I have always disregarded it. Tomorrow we're exchanging gifts and I'd like this to be one of them. Because all the stores are closed right now, and I don't feel like running around early tomorrow morning blindly looking for a small fuzzy plant, has anyone seen this plant in any store recently? Preferably in the Lake City or U-District Area?? Thanks so much!

O Christmas Tree?

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 11:22 PM
I just came home for the holidays, and have been charged with buying a Christmas tree for my parents. My mom says she doesn't want to pay $80 for a tree, but they're not broke either, so I don't want to spend a lot of time driving somewhere to get one for super cheap/free either.

They live in the Broadview/Bitter Lake area. Anyone have any tips for places in the Ballard/North Seattle/Shoreline area where I might pick up a 6' tree at a reasonable price? What is a reasonable price?

Christmas Dinners in Seattle

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 7:25 PM
Hi all - I checked memories and the most recent post on this is 5 years old. Googling brought up similar forum posts as old.

After trying to figure out what to make for our mom for Christmas Dinner, my sister decided she'd rather eat out. I know I can expect most places in the ID to be open, but we're looking for either seafood or general American fare (steaks, chicken, etc). Price range probably around $20-$25 a plate.

Anyone know of what might be open? I've called Anthony's and Broadway Grill but both are closed. I'll continue trying other places (including hotel restaurants) but thought I'd also check in here.

Thanks everyone!

Once you are comfortable with basic sleeping, you may wish to move on to more difficult positions, as demonstrated here by Dizzy the Frenchie.  Caution: Dizzy is a professional; do not attempt these maneuvers without training and supervision.

Dr Parnassus on Xmas

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 11:04 AM
Hey Seattle. So, a friend and I want to spend the day Friday seeing movies. The three we would like to see are Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, and The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus (the last being the one I would like to see most.) My google-fu has turned up tons of theaters that are showing Avatar and Sherlock Holmes, but none so far that will be showing Dr Parnassus.

Does anyone know if this will be out anywhere in Seattle on Friday? Am probably willing to go to a different theater to see it if I have to, though it would be nice to stay put.

Thanks!

Edit: Apparently I'm dumb (and my coffee hasn't kicked in) and it's limited release till January.

Boo-urns.

Mysteries of Medical Science

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 6:17 PM

Of all the still-unexplained wonders of the human body, perhaps the most startling is the myriad ways it handles stress.   In an extreme case, a college math student, whom we’ll call Doris X, would respond to the pressure of mid-terms by spontaneously transforming into a cat.

The cat-apps keep coming, and this time Simon’s Cat gets in on the game, aptly enough with a game of Simon.  “Simon’s Cat in Purrfect Pitch” brings the feisty feline to the iPhone.  Play by matching Simon’s songs, or compose your own.

When his mom asked him to run next door to borrow some sugar from Mrs. Farber, Gunter was shocked to find that his father was already there asking for the very same thing.

The day in Chutzpah Parking

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 10:53 PM
Gee, that coffee at Citizen sure is tasty, innit? Oh, but the parking situation down there! What's a dye-job BMW driver to do: she wants that coffee, but she can't find a spot to park her 5-series.

Why not pull into the little gas station on the corner, on the other side of the pumps where the register jockey can't see her, then put the nozzle in the car and pull up the handle into the locked position so it looks like someone's fueling, but just went inside for a minute -- then go over and enjoy that wonderful coffee? Brilliant!

You fucking cunt.
